A MESSAGE FROM STATE REPRESENTATIVE EDDIE RODRIGUEZ
Dear Democrats,
As some of you may know, my wife and I are very active in animal welfare
causes. In fact, my wife was president of Austin Pets Alive (APA!) and I
still serve on the board. APA! is a 501 (c)3 nonprofit organization working
to end the killing of adoptable dogs and cats by providing solutions to pet
overpopulation. It is a good cause that has had success in dealing with pet
overpopulation issues.
I'm writing to ask if there are good democrats that also care deeply about
this issue and who would like to get involved with APA! I know that we all
have very busy lives and many of you are already tireless volunteers for
other worthwhile causes, but if you are interested just let me know.
You can reach me at repeddierodriguez at gmail.com .
Austin Pets Alive!
APA! is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization working to end the killing of
adoptable dogs and cats by providing solutions to pet overpopulation. For
example, we pay for spay/neuter services for people who can't otherwise
afford it; we assist in the temporary care for pets of people leaving
abusive relationships or going into rehab or the hospital; we promote
spay/neuter services in the East Austin community; and we provide a
newsletter to subscribers about dogs and cats in need of rescue or new homes
and pet-related activity in Austin.

Primary Election Assistant position. Depending upon the amount received and
qualifications of applicants, we may end up splitting this into two,
part-time positions at 20 hours per week. This position will begin on the

Clerk's Election Division. The assistant will also collect and maintain
records concerning candidates and precinct chairs including verifying that
all petition signatures are valid. Other duties involve creating data
spreadsheets, handling standard printed primary election materials in the
Party office and assisting with a variety of other tasks as needed. Working
knowledge of Word and Excel required. Experience with FileMaker a plus.

call or e-mail the TCDP with your current contact info to include campaign

BECOME A TCDP SUSTAINING MEMBER!
Since 2004, seven Republican-held offices within Travis County have switched
to Democrats, and now, there are only three Republicans left! As you can
see, the TCDP has stepped up to make Travis County even more Democratic!
Sustaining members are our lifeblood. They are the reason that we are open
year-round (one of the five county parties in Texas), have two staff
members, and our work has been so successful. We do not receive any funds
from the national or state parties!
Stand with us and other Travis County residents and support TCDP by becoming
a Member. We have two levels of membership:
Sustaining: minimum of $10.00 per month or $120.00 annually.
Finance Council: minimum of $84.00 per month or $1000.00 annually. Members
at this level receive prominent listing in our publications and web site as
well as at Travis County Democratic Party functions along with free
admission to TCDP sponsored events.
The Travis County Democratic Party is dependent on your generosity for
everything we do!
As you may have heard recently in the news, Austin ranks 48th out of 50
cities in terms of the amount of money donated to nonprofit organizations.
Help reverse this trend by donating to TCDP today!!!
To join the Travis County Democratic Party go online to:
<http://www.traviscountydemocrats.org/> http://www.traviscountydemocrats.org
and click on "Donate" in the red box at the bottom left of the page. Or

TO SUBSCRIBERS WHO USE AOL
AOL has become increasingly difficult for independent Internet services and
presence providers like ours to work with. The AOL mail user interface has
a "Report Spam" button immediately adjacent to the "Delete" button, and not
only does this make it hard for many inexperienced (and elderly) users to
avoid hitting the "Report Spam" button, but AOL apparently makes little or
no attempt to educate its user base on distinguishing between spam and
legitimate list posts to which they have subscribed but may not wish to
read.
AOL tracks each "Report Spam" it receives from subscribers. If they receive
too many complaints from our service, email will be subject to substantial
acceptance delays or rejection by AOL's mail servers.
Each time an AOL user hits the "Report Spam" button on a post from a list
hosted by our web host, we receive a "Client TOS Notification" from AOL. If
this happens, you will be automatically unsubscribed from the list.
You are free to re-subscribe your address to our lists; however, if you
chose to do so, please take the time to use caution or obtain an email
address, such as a gmail address, from a different provider. Please be
careful when deleting messages.
