Sing Your Own Blues - a Karaoke Party

$10 at the door and here's how it works:
$1 to sing a song or to sign someone up to sing a song.
$1 if you've been signed up to sing and you don't want to!
$10 if you want a candidate or elected official to sing
Show support for YOUR county party for a song!

EAST AUSTIN INITIATIVE
The East Austin Initiative (EAI), designed to address the new challenges created by changes in demographic and physical changes of East Austin, will "turnout the base" and develop an infrastructure that consistently maximizes the party's ability to maintain and expand its diverse base. The components of the EAI are:
1. True Blue Action Grassroots Campaigning
2. Candidates' Forum/ Town Hall Meeting
3. Culturally, Ethnically Relevant Messaging
4. Politically-oriented Arts/Entertainment
5. Social networking
To implement the EAI, the TCDP Coordinated Campaign needs volunteers to assist in voter registration and education drives throughout East Austin. PLEASE COME TO A MEETING TONIGHT (MONDAY) TO LET US KNOW HOW YOU CAN HELP!!! MEETING DETAILS:

In addition, the EAI needs volunteers to block walk in East Austin neighborhoods. The voter registration deadline is Tuesday, October 10, 2006, so there needs to be a big push this week. If you are interested in registering and mobilizing the Democratic voter base in East Austin, come by the True Blue Travis Headquarters at 505 Willow St. or call Rudy Malveaux at 637-0847 or email rudy at traviscountydemocrats.org.

SPECIAL REQUEST FROM TRUE BLUE TRAVIS!!!
As of yesterday (Sunday), True Blue Travis with the help of dozens of volunteers have distributed over 125,000 voter registration cards to apartment complexes in Austin. There are now only 25,000 left. They need your help to complete this!
Come by 505 Willow any time this week (9am-8pm) to help stuff the rest of the door-hanger packets. Before you leave, pick up one or two apartment complex packets to take and hang before Saturday October 7th.
With your help, all of these packets can go out and on doors. Join us and change the equation! We're almost done!

It only takes 2-3 hours, and with this great weather that we've been having lately, wouldn't it be nice to get out and do great work that helps Democrats get elected?
