TCDP Internship Program

Are you looking for an opportunity to make a difference in your community? Want to turn your political passions into action? Want to establish lasting connections and gain political and/or campaign experience?

The Travis County Democratic Party (TCDP) Internship Program is designed to give students and lifelong learners substantial exposure to practical, campaign-style politics in Travis County.

This internship is for you, if you:

  • have a deep appreciation of and commitment to progressive causes.

  • enjoy meeting and speaking with new people, and sharing with and learning from others.

  • are interested in Texas and progressive politics.

  • have integrity, independent thinking, and personal courage.

  • are looking for a way to make a change in your community now and for years to come.

  • are excited to think and work creatively to expand the meaning of and possibilities for what “organizing” can mean and what organizing can achieve.

Interns will learn the nuts and bolts of modern electoral politics and gain daily exposure to the business of campaigns as well as the important policy questions that confront city, county, state, and the federal government. Interns will engage daily in substantial, vital work and complete concrete professional development objectives that will leave them prepared to lead. Interns may be asked to support organizing, training, administration, communications, fundraising, and more.
