Come to the TCDP and OFA Holiday Party, help the homeless!
Fellow Democrats,
Unless you left the country last week, you know that Travis County and Texas Democrats throughout the state won a significant victory in San Antonio.
On Wednesday, three federal judges released new Congressional district maps that reject the extreme slicing done by the Republican Legislature. Instead of five Congressional Districts, we now have three, and CD 25 is once again an Austin-based Democratic seat where Lloyd Doggett can continue to represent us. Be sure to read Congressman Doggett’s comments in today’s “On the Record with Diane Holloway.”
This Thanksgiving miracle was a great beginning to the holiday season. I’m very excited to be hosting the TCDP & OFA Holiday Party at my house on December 15th. Please mark your calendars and plan to come! Together with our State House Democratic delegation and Senator Watson as our honorary hosts, we will celebrate the season and help our less fortunate neighbors at the same time.
In that spirit, I hope you will join me in helping the homeless through donations to the Trinity Center. Located at 7th and Trinity Streets downtown, this small-budget but hard-working group was founded with funds bequeathed through the Barbara Jordan Foundation and with the guiding hands of our longtime Democratic friends, Diana and Doug Bell. Trinity Center provides breakfast, clothing, computer training, counseling and other basic services to thousands of people every year.
You can find their donation “wish list” here , and you can either drop them off at our office at 1311 E. Sixth Street between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, or bring them to the party. These are simple requests but can make the difference between life and death for people living on the streets.

We have a special treat for you at Wednesday evening’s County Executive Committee Meeting! Before the CEC business gets underway at the AFL-CIO (1106 Lavaca St.), we are having Free Pizza and Petition Signing, starting at 5 p.m.
This is one-stop shopping for you to help all the candidates you want to see on our March primary ballot. It’s convenient, fun, patriotic and frees you from having to stop and sign a bunch of clipboards when you’re out running errands.
And speaking of the primary, our filing period is officially underway, and the TCDP office hours are now 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Please call our office at 512-477-7500 with any questions. It’s time to become a Precinct Chair or file to run for office, and we’re here to help!
Sincerely,
Andy Brown
Travis County Democratic Party Chair
